Round 8, Valencia

Results and Report Valencia

Yet another track with great battles all over the place!
EXP devided in 2 heats again and both heats as exciting as the other.
However Heat 2 had a thrilling (read stupid!) ending for yours truly...

After some 'not that good' races for Olympic Motor Racing Team, our one of the fastest men in the League regained the position he used to have: a big win for JuanFran! And where better to do it than on your almost home GP!

Top 4 this time however from 4 different Teams! 2Nd place was for the ever faster Danny3L from Lowland Racing Team, 3rd for Don't Lift's Locutus and 4th for the upcoming Storm Team Racing's Schumikov! The first after them from another than those 3 Teams was Rinker for F1 Power Racing in 14th place!

Heat 2 was close racing as well, with Bryan and I Otermin battling 'till the very last lap! After leading most of the race, Bryan however had to admit I Otermin just was that bit faster, leaving Bryan in 2nd place in the heat, 10th overall.

Like said above, the most disappointing (yes, yes, and stupid) move this race was by CasH. In a comfortable 3rd place in heat 2 (11th overall), CasH checked on his display if his Teammate Bryan managed to score the win of the heat, and with only half a lap to go he jumped a curb and ended crashing in the walls...

Even with this misfortune, Lowland Racing Team however increased their lead over Olympic Motor Racing (but eh, they became World Champion Soccer! What? Yes, soccer :P).
Storm Team Racing however closing in on them by the race! Promising a continuing Team battle during the season!

Like in EXP, the AMA race fell victim to the fastest man there: Machiel! Not only that however, he did the triple: pole, fastest lap and win!

Yet again scoring big for his TRM Racing goes F1. 2Nd, 4th, 5th and 6th however were for Art-Of-Racing drivers Marius Nicolae, Bogdan Georgescu, Graur Catalin and Mihai Calota (red: wondering why the Team isn't called Romenian Art Of Racing :P). Only 3rd placed Flyer23 from Team World Racing managed to squeeze himself in between. Great job again by the very old man :).

Art-Of-Racing still leading in AMA, but the gap between 2nd placed Team World Racing and TRM Racing goes F1 is getting small...

Off now to our next race at renewed Silverstone!

But not before reading the Race Report below!

Race Report:

AMA:

By MontyHJC:

"So new track, new city, new opportunities. Start to learning the track with some help of my teammate Machiel a week ahead of the race. The practice sessions paid off very quickly by driving to a fifth starting position on the wednesday qualifying. My only qualifying unfortunately, because friday was for celebrating some weird ball game world cup things, where everyone seems to make a big fuzz off it! Hah!

So sitting at the starting grid at fifth position, outside row, with a nice view on the starting lights. And there they go, one red, two, (well we skip to five...) and amazingly quickly it turns green and theeeere we go!! Everyone seems to be alert on this stage and didn't hesitate to push the throttle. Some experience told me to be cool on the first lap, so lost some places in the first corners already unfortunately. Turning onto the bridge I even discovered my teammate Leen behind (starting 11th), who was even so surprised back then to see me in front! Luckily made it through the first lap without any damage, so the overtaking part could start from P8.

At first it was Arti who seemed to block some attempts and struggled to let me be, but eventually it happened. After a few laps I was able to join the group of Marius Nicolae and Flyer23, a group of five, all the way to P2. Lovely sight! The view was even more enjoyable when Bogdan and Graur had a little dispute about who was to be driving in front. It didn´t lasted that long apparently, when I saw Graur standing off the track in the last corner. So another P gained! I believe it was P6 at the time. After some good laps racing I started to fight with Bogdan, which was hard, but good fun! And the hairpin was a suitable place to make the final overtaking.

With a few laps to go till the pitstop I had still sight on Marius and Flyer. As they both pitted later, it kept being an exiting game until lap 20 when also Marius stopped for some new fuel. At that time I'd earlier raced by the pits and overtook Flyer, the only question was: was the gap with Marius of 17 seconds enough for him to make a safe pitstop. Well, it was, but just. With some seven laps left to race to the finish, it was closer and closer every lap. I tried some little attacks, however, they weren't any successful. When I realized our lap times had sunk into the 39s, I decided to push the throttle and was determined to catch the second place and go home with a 1-2 for TRM.

Wrong decision probably? Who knows! Just about one and a half lap later, driving out of the hairpin into the very fast left-right hander, I made a mistake by steering into the left hander too early. This resulted in crashing into the walls and losing my frontwing. Lost a lot of places by repairing it, ruined my race unfortunately. It's racing, it's experience, it's luck. Whatever, slight mistake, no decent result this time, but what a great race with exciting fights and great strategy (well done Marius!). And luckily... teammate Machiel sealed the race. See you all in Silverstone!"

Round 7, Canada

Results and Reports Canada

The fastest report since years. One day after the race! Eh, sorry, one day after the next race :P.

The home track of Black Panda Racing Team Captain A_C_Muller. A favourite of many drivers (yes, the track that is ;) ).

As close as the results on the previous track were, this seems to have lacked here.
In EXP only 3 fast guys finished in the same lap and with some reasonable gaps from eachother.
Ever fast BPR2 driver Okan Kükner took another win, followed by both Lowland Racing Team drivers Tygernoot and Danny3L. The latter also putting up the fastest lap of the race!

The above results putting LRT in a more comfortable lead, as the rest of the Team finished in 7th, 9th and 11th position, while their biggest opponents Olympic Motor Racing Team only scored with Zoneur in 8th position.
Don't forget however about 3rd placed Team Storm Team Racing however, as they get very close to Olympic! Team battles heating up!

AMA this time however was close as never before! With big fights all over the place!
The results however don't really show, as Flyer23 got his very deserved first win, but his close follower (and close is about in his gearbox) Ricardoferreira had yet another disaster happening! About in the last corner of the last lap he lost connection, resulting in a DNF :(.
Behind them it was very close between Graur Catalin, Marius Nicolae and David Rego, who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

More to the back of the field hard battles between A_C_Muller and MontyHJC.
Robert Teufelbauer was the last driver finishing and scoring (him for BPR).

Team standings in AMA pretty similar with EXP. Art-Of-Racing opening a gap, closely followed by Team World Racing and the newcomer this year TRM Racing goes F1.

Country standings in EXP show the Netherlands in a pretty big lead. Behind them it is very close, between Spain, Romania, Brazil and Turkey.
In AMA a different story. Romania leading there, followed by the Netherlands, Portugal, England and the good old US of A :).

Not that many Race Reports as last race, but worth reading as always! Check them out below!

We just finished our 'next race' in Valencia (of which the news hopefully gets upped faster), so CU at the GP of England!

Race Reports:

AMA:

By Flyer23:

"As the light went out I knew this was my only shot to win the race. I made a blinding start and beat ricardoferreira into T1. Slight mistake but kept the lead on the exit of T2. At this point I knew if I did not make any mistakes I might have a chance to win. I pushed as hard as I could for the next 20 laps with ricardoferreira On my gearbox the entire time. I was hoping he would pit before me, but as it turns out he was running the same strategy as me. Into the pits we both go on lap 20 nose to tail. I hit my marks perfect and was on my way in 7 seconds. I could see in my mirror that ricardoferreira was still in his pit box. I was sooooo nervous that I missed braking point on exit of pits into T2 and went on the grass. The time I gained in the pits was lost in the first corner and ricardoferreira was now only 1.8 seconds behind me and closing. I pushed and pushed to maintain the lead. ricardoferreira Passed my on the back straight 3 times during the race, once he overshot the chicane and let me back into the lead. The other 2X I was close enough to out brake him. I am pleased to have raced with such a good driver. He could have bumped me several times and taken the lead, but he was CLEAN and fair the entire race. I must say my car was VERY WIDE at times during the race but I don’t think I did anything unsporting. A fantastic race from the start to finish and my first win in F1. Not too shabby for the oldest driver here….. "

By Machiel:

"I started the race from 8th position after having barely any time to qualify. Slowly made my planned progress through the field. About halfway the race before the first pitstops, I went up to 3rd and I already accepted that result, as I knew I wasn't gonna catch Ricardo Ferreira and Flyer23. Then a few laps after the pitstops my race ended. I posted a video of it on the forum, but as this will be published some time later: I crashed out in Turn 7 after I lost both front wheels in a way that shouldn't have been possible. An incident like the one I had is regrettable as obviously I didn't need to push for anything, yet I scraped the wall and the glitch did it's thing. But it happens. Hopefully the walls in Valencia will be more kind to me.

I had some enjoyable battles with some drivers nevertheless, including Snakey, David Rego and probably a few names I forgot, sorry. Thanks for those, it was hard but fair, that's why I'm simracing in the first place."

Round 6, Turkey

Results and many Reports Turkey

This round was apparantly one of the most exciting up to now!
It shows by the huge number of Race Reports I got this time! Great!

Therefore a smaller report by me, as you guys did a perfect job describing how you experianced your race!

EXP as always a close battle, but with yet another surprising win! Not because Okan Kükner is slow, but he had to start from 10th position! Great effort!

Of course Heat 1 always is an exciting one with many battles! This time Locutus came in second and Danny3L in third, all very close! Leaving the fast (ex AMA) Luciano Rodrigues just out of the Top3!
Another great thing is that the Top5 finishers were from 5 different Teams! This keeping the Team Standings very exciting!

Heat 2 had it's battles as well! CasH had 'pole' in heat 2. His LRT Teammate and fellow Overall Admin Veldt000 was in second position. As usual CasH had a bad start and Veldt000 took the lead. Lap by lap they were very close!
At the final laps CasH ordered Veldt000 to let his Boss pass, but like in previous years Veldt000 refused! I'll post the consequences for this riot behaviour soon...
But that's not it. CasH finally decided to do a 'Vettel' on Veldt000. A clean one of course ;). Veldt000 however just turned in, with poor CasH next to him on the inside. Outrageous!
This resulting in a slight bump, but both got away with it without damage. Veldt000 kept the door closed, so they finished in that order.

AMA then! Exciting from the start to the end!
Yet again Ricardoferreira took pole, and with a pretty big gap of second position!

He however was still looking for his first victory!
And yes, yet again a bad start from him, resulting in an exhausting race!
While struggling through the pack, he still finally managed to win his first race of the season! BUT..............

Yes, BUT... after the race it appeared during the bad start of Ric, he caused some (unintended) damage, as he looked at his wheel, looked back in front, and found his car in the back of poor Machiel.
This resulting in a penalty afterwards, which dropped Ric to 8th place. 'Well deserved' Ric said afterwards. He apologised to Machiel. I did hear they didn't kiss up afterwards however ;).

This resulting in a victory for fellow Portugese driver JoaoPinho! Giving maximum points to the new and upcoming Team Men Of War Motorsport which is climbing fast in the AMA Team Rankings!

The rest of the action can be read in all Race Reports below!
Showing this race was action packed like no other!
Take your time reading all and have fun!

Sorry not all attached shots are posted. You guys went nuts this time! :D

Now let's hope our next race in Canada this sunday will be at least as exciting as this one! CU there!

Again: don't forget our Sister League: GT1! Have fun there as well!

Race Reports:

AMA:

By Joao Pinho:

"As team captain, I'm extremely pleased with Men of War Motorsport's performance this weekend. It's roughly our first GP (at Monaco, only 1 driver could race) and we've scored 110 points, and showed we've got the pace, although 2 of our drivers couldn't be present: Manuel Costa (he had his first grandson this sunday) and André Santos (net problems). We don't need to say we're here to stay and to be competitive, we hope our results can speak for themselves, since our goal is 3rd place in the constructor's championship, although we've missed 5 races.

As this team's driver, I have mixed feelings at the end of the race. Thanks to Ricardo's accident, I leaped into the race lead after the first corner, and was able to control the pace of the race and my closest followers (Bodgan and Flyer). I made no big mistakes, and I'm very happy, since this was my first race in Tyka. In the other hand, I lost the lead of the race in the last corners... I was overtaken by a furiously fast Ricardo Ferreira, due to my inexperience. My congratulations to him, he's been super-fast all-over the weekend! See you in Canada!"

By Riccardoferreira:

"Complicated race for me.

But starting with the Q, I know i had to make the POLE and win the race this race because champ points. So for first time this season could be present in 3 sessions, i did more laps. I improved my time in all sessions all, until it reaches 1.25.9 which gave me POLE, the third POLE this season.

In the race I tried to have the best possible start, pulled up well, but I looked at the wheel and when i looked again to forward was too late, i hit Machiel, and we go off too last! From there "maximum attack" i try all i can. to go  P1 again, and i did that in last corner, when i pass Joaopinho.

I had greats fights all race, thanks to a Snakey_Uk have opened the door. I also found the worst player too pass, NMansell. I also had a nice fight with A_C_Muller funny, I think we do three or four corners wheel to wheel.

Congratulations to Joao Pinho, first race he did in Tyka and a great P2, and again congratulations to my the team (LRT) great result in the AMA as in EXP, another podium for Danny3L (and he is fighting for champ) i think we have a proud Capitan ! :)"
(red: this report was sent before penalty applied)

By Machiel:

"I wasn't satisfied with the balence of the car all week, yet 3rd in qualifying wasn't too bad. The start was good and I overtook Ricardo Ferreira on the left. I was gonna go into turn 1 side by side with João Pinho, when Ricardo hit me. I spun and took quite some damage. After the accident I was last, and I was just trying to pick of as much places as I could in a short time. There was progress but logically the opponents became tougher and tougher. Turn 8 was a real bitch to follow drivers through, the rest of the track was fine.

After the pitstops I was in P6. Ricardo was behind me and flew past me really, he was a lot quicker in corners and had way more topspeed as well. With about 10 laps to go he started making his way upfront, I tried to follow his progress the best I could, but got stuck in 5th place behind Flyer23.

So certainly, I'm not very happy about the outcome of this race, but it happens and then you've got to make the most of it."

By NMansell:

“First of all my I offer my congratulatory hand to ricardoferreira - what a victory that was... I'm still not entirely sure I know how he did it but still...

I got a terrible start and lost a couple of places at the start but I guess Turn 1 caught out ricardoferreira and Machiel who seemed to disappear off the timing screens. By the time we got to Turns 3,4,5 I was in 5th place sat in behind my two team-mates Flyer23 (3rd) and Snakey_UK (4th).

A few laps later, Snakey ran wide at Turn 10 and this was the chance I need to slip through into 4th and finally a bit of clear air!! The front three at the time (joaopinho, Bogdan Georgescu and Flyer23) were only around 3-4s up the road so I just got my head down and tried to do some consistent times.

On lap 15, joaopinho and myself dived for the pits, hoping a good in lap would see me jump a place or two in the pit stops. Some excellent work from the Team World Racing pit crew got me out again in 6.8s. This put me right back on the tail of the three leaders, even managing to go side by side by side with Bogdan Georgescu and Flyer23.

Again, another quiet period ensued but that was before the charging ricardoferreira caught me with 7 laps remaining. Even with my hard (but I should point out clean and fair) defence both ricardoferreira and Machiel got past.

Just saw out of the remaining six laps with no real scare to finish 6th and what is my best result in F1!!

What with Flyer23 finishing 4th, and Snakey_Uk, Ianstuart and Arti finishing 8th, 9th and 10th respectively... Team World Racing are fighting back in the AMA teams championship! Don't write us off... Well..."

By Flyer23:

"As the lights went out I got a decent start but for me there was much lag and I tried to be very careful through T1. On the exit going up the hill I see I am P2. I push hard but joaopinho was too quick for me on the first lap and I also got passed by  Bogdan Georgescu . I pushed very hard because I knew my strategy would let me go at least one more lap than them so I needed to keep them in sight. We stayed the entire race only a few seconds apart. By the time pit stops came I had P1 for 1 lap. I pushed as hard as I could to make time. I thought I might keep P1 but came out of the pits on the gearbox of joaopinho. I drafted down the long straight to T12 got along side but missed my braking point and went off. I entered safely but lost P2 and was P3 again. The 3 of us were nose to tail with Nigel Mansell not far behind so I knew I could not make any other mistakes. My set up was for consistency and lacked top speed so I could not make any pass attempts unless they made mistakes, which they made few. With a few laps remaining I see that ricardoferreira is closing fast. There was nothing I could do to stop him unless I hit him like Webber/Vettel in the same spot. I let him go because he was 10 MPH faster on the straight. I kept them all in sight. I think if I got by these guys early I would have been quicker and could have had a gap by the time ricardoferreira  got close. It was not to be but this was the BEST race I have had in a long time. All of the drivers I raced with were great. Giving room when needed and being wide when they had to. Great racing for the entire race and the top five crossed the line covered by 5 seconds. A great race and I hope to fight again at the front only this time beating Ricardoferreira by speed and not his usual poor starts….."

EXP:

By Schumi_1st:

"Great race there in Turkey, not from my final position in driver standings point of view, but an overall outstanding motorsport show.

Start of the race: I was 3rd on the grid for Heat 2, with Cash being in pole and Veldt following him. Poor start for Cash and great start for me and Veldt, both being able to pass him, so after the first corner Veldt was leading and I was running close on his back.

Unfortunately my lack of experience and emotions revealed before finishing the first lap, when braking a bit earlier into the chicane Jos managed to pass me followed soon after by Cash. After this I was thinking just to keep my calm and concentration, be patient and make no mistakes.

In lap 3 I was enjoying the great battle that was in front of me between Jos and Cash, Cash managing to pass in having a better exit from the long turn 8.  Then in lap 12 Cash made a mistake and Jos passed him again. The continued to have a great fight in front of me, Cash passing Jos again in the same place as lap 3. After 18 laps I had my first pit of the race, and Bryan and Don Hulio passed me. Next lap Don Hulio entered the pits too but he managed to exit right in front of me. We had great fights trough the middle of the race, passing him in lap 29 before the long straight but then braking a bit early permitted him to come back. In lap 36 was my turn to pass again at the end of the long straight but locking the wheels on braking and going a bit wide into the chicane gives enough room to Don Hulio to regain the lost position (great fight with this man!). In lap 38 I’ve entered the pits for my last stop and the story repeats, Don Hulio making his stop a lap later and managing again to exit right in front of me – very frustraiting. Jos, who had a slower pace, running in front of us pitted in lap 40, and both myself and Don Hulio passed him while he was on the pits. I was quite satisfied then because I was confident that I will eventually manage to pass over Don Hulio, because he was a little bit slower in a few places and corners of the track. We both continued to have great battle, but we both made some mistakes and in lap 46 the fight was result was pretty much decided: I had a better top speed on the long straight and passed him on the exterior into the chicane, having the interior prepared for the right corner in front, but he closed the door pretty brutal, fact that made us collide, with no damage for myself anyway. He kept his position and I was now a little scared, thinking that it is better to finish the race than ending with a DNF. Meanwhile Jos was forcing in my back and one lap later, due to some loosing of my concentration translated into a stupid mistake he passed me on the long straight. Then being faster than him, in lap 56 I was trying to regain my lost position. Having the interior at the end of the long straight I attacked, but Jos had in my opinion an unfair behavior turning left way to close and hitting me from behind, fact that made me spin. Next two laps I could do nothing more, just cruising behing Don Hulio and Jos, finishing the race in 6th position (15th in general after Jos having added that 5 sec penalty from Monaco).

Generally speaking it was a great race with a lot of fights, in which I could finish in a better position, but due to my lack of experience I made some mistakes that I hope not to repeat in the future.

Looking forward to Canadian GP at Montreal, I salute you all!"

By Danny3L:

"Overall I must say I am quite happy with the result. Starting 5th, with tough competitors ahead and behind it looked to be a tough race and it was. Had a decent start to maintain position passing some, while being passed by Inigo (great start m8). Fought for a couple of turn before I was able to squeeze in into T1 and get 3rd place. Luciano and Juan were also trading positions at the front of the pack, and while they tangled I found myself in 1st place with Okan right on my gear box. With a top speed of 314 I was not able to keep Okan behind, he passed in the last complex to run away for the win. The first pit stop was frustrating...was kept for 9 seconds and on top of that I braked too early for the speed limit. 2nd stint Locutus and Luciano were even closer. After a great battle Locutus was able to pass and take 2nd position followed by Luciano a few laps later. 2nd pit stop was much better. Got 3rd place again and the battle with Locutus and Luciano kept on for a couple of more laps before Locutus was able to put some seconds between us. Luciano was able to pass me after some good fighting...only to run wide on lap 56 and hand me the last podium position. Congratulations to Okan for winning this race having started 10th!!! Great driving. An unforgettable race and hopefully Canada will bring the same kind of action."

By Luciano Rodrigues:

"... Great race, Istanbul Park! I made excelent start and keep pushing attack on Juan Fran and lap 2 or 3 dont remember, i won 1st... But one idiot mistake i lost many position when i spin ALONE LOLLLL, and to complete me and Juan crash me and affect my suspension (Sry Juan) Bad lucky for us... But i made my strategics with or without damages ( i forgot damage and keep pushing MAX ). The great BATTLE i do with Locutus and Danny3L.... COMPLETE FAIR FIGTHS!!!!
Almost final race i won position Danny3L (3st) but one more time MISTAKE, when i m close to enter S turn i take it the Coke Cola to drink and DAMNN.... go out to track and lost position (3st) :( :( :( !

But one excelent race in geral... Weldone for Okan Predatore!..."

By Nemesis:

"I started heavy on fuel 23laps(stint) got a clean start and gained a couple of places before turn 2, the first lap or so I yo-yo'd a bit getting stuck in traffic etc. Before the field spread out more comfortably, I had Tyger Sennador Inigo Walter and Kostas all relatively close behind me after some lost time in turn 8 which my car seemed to cope with very well. I was having to push hard while not entirely comfortable with my car, struggling for grip quite badly as my tyres overheated. There were some great duels which I think I managed to defend cleanly which were great fun.

Coming in to pit I was hoping I could make the most of my extra laps out while light and stay ahead of Tyger and Sennador who were blatantly a bit faster. Unfortunately I missed out on both by a second and they both started to sprint away at quite a pace. Kostas behind didn't seem able to catch me however and Sennador made a mistake and I got past him luckily. The rest of the stint I spent defending him.

I pitted for my last time only needing fuel for 13 laps, I came out a few seconds ahead of Sennador and on fresh tyres I was able to push away a little and keep the gap to Tyger the same, setting my fastest lap in that time. In the end I was just pushing to make sure I wasn't lapped by Okan and came home comfortably in 7th about 30 seconds off the front pack. It was about as well as I could have done considering I had little faith in my tyres and a good result in a competitive race!"

By Tygernoot:

" "What could have been." - the title of my report of this very exciting race.

The first stint was a total chaos. I had a bad start from 7th and was hindered in T1 having to brake for other cars making me lose a position right away. What followed was a 22-lap battle between Nemesis, Otermin, Kostas and me. Switching places often by having to brake for the driver ahead and getting passed by the car behind, going wide in T8 through dirty air… In the end I was even stuck in 10th position losing more than a second per lap, while the front runners were disappearing into the distance.
Through the pitstops I managed to get ahead of all of them and was finally free in some clean air to make up time. I didn't have any fights in the second stint, so I tried to push and was keeping up with JuanFran's pace, who was some 10 seconds ahead of me. It's common knowledge that he wears out his tyres more quickly than others, so I knew there were chances of overtaking him near the end of the race.
In lap 43 I went in for my second stop and was only some 5 second behind JuanFran at that point. With only 15 laps to go and my tyres having to do a few less laps than Juan's, this was the time to pressure him and find a way to overtake. Until the end of the race we continued to battle. Regardless of his tyre problems, I never really found a way to overtake, and he resisted the pressure very well.
I was amazed to find out Locutus in 2nd position was only a mere 9 seconds ahead of me after the finish, considering I was stuck in my entire first stint. There are no ifs in F1, but it does make me wonder what could have been.

I'm really enjoying this season so far, and now looking forward to Canada, which has always been one of my favorites."

Round 5, Monaco

Results, Reports and video Monaco

The most eventful race of the Season: Monaco!
During practice and qualify our contesters spent millions on spare parts :).
Not that weird on a track like this, where the slightest error causes big damage!
The more surprising that in EXP almost half of the qualifiers finished! In AMA even 2/3rd! Amazing, as I've seen different in the past years!

In EXP qualify was pretty close; Top7 within a second! Only JuanFran, the regular poleman (ok, ok, Okan Kükner missed Qualify) had a huge gap of .5 seconds to the next driver Locutus.

AMA was even closer! Poleman Marius Nicolae clinched pole over Machiel by a lousy 0,04 seconds! How close can it get!

The race in EXP fell victim to JuanFran. Not that big news, but the effort is even greater, knowing he made a mistake near the end, causing him to make an extra pitstop, getting a new frontwing! Still winning the race with an over 25 seconds lead! Amazing!
I asked JuanFran and he gave a 'Van Gaal' answer: Am I that fast or is the rest so slow? (free interpretation from the famous Dutch line from football (what?) coach Van Gaal to Reporters 'Am I that smart or are you guys that stupid'?).
Behind JuanFran there were big fights between Don't Lift's Locutus and LRT's Tygernoot. This time Tygernoot (and his Teammate Danny3L) were faster, so Locutus had to settle for 4th which is, for him, disappointing after his 2nd place in Qualify.

Teamwise the best performing Team in EXP was Lowland Racing Team (LRT). With drivers in 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th position they scored big! The up to now leading Team Olympic Motor Racing Team ONLY scored with JuanFran! Their Boss Iñigo Otermin had to miss the race due to circumstances.
This resulting in the ultimate fight in the Teamstandings, as now both Teams share the first position with 734 points! The new Team Storm Team Racing however is following pretty close with 516 points!
AMA once again was a close one! And yes, again with a great victory by Machiel, but this time only just, as he was followed closely by Riccardoferreira, who finished only .6 seconds later! Still, Ric is aiming for the so deserved victory, therefore this battle isn't over yet!

Third place went to poleman Marius Nicolae.
As Top 3 are from 3 different Teams, it also shows in AMA the Team Standings are pretty close!
In first position still is TRM Racing goes F1 with 719 points, followed by Art-Of-Racing with 699 points! Team World Racing is 3rd and Lowland Racing Team is 4th, closely followed by Black Panda Racing in 5th.
I must admit the most amazing result here is from LRT, as that Team only has one driver in AMA :D.
One Team isn't mentioned here, as it is in 7th place now: Men of War Motorsport. But keep that name in mind, as I know it is growing fast, with some fast drivers in it!

Speaking of rankings, Keep an eye on the Country Standings as well! In EXP The Netherlands are leading, followed by Spain and Romania. In AMA, Romania leads, followed by The Netherlands and Portugal!
Makes you wonder which countries provide the best drivers? :P.
Well, up to YOU to score not only for your Team, but ALSO for your Country!

All in all yet another great Race at Monaco!
By now we all are Qualifying in Turkey. Another challenging track!
Let's hope it will be as exciting as it was in real life!
CU there!

Below, some nice Race Reports! Thanks guys! Keep them coming like this!
Also a nice Video by KostasCB1. Thanks mate!

Again: don't forget our Sister League: GT1! Have fun there as well!

Race Reports and Video:

By Tygernoot:

"Monaco is pretty much my home GP now. I like the track a lot, but it hasn't been kind to me in the past, with lots of crashes and a blown engine. Last year I improved my track record with a 4th position, so I was hoping to go one step further this time.

I'm still struggling a bit with the mod. The understeery nature of the corner entries is giving me a hard time, but thanks to some great setup work by fellow LRTer Biggetje I felt comfortable right away.

Starting from 4th position my strategy was to try and stay close to the front runners and see what would happen. Danny had too much wheelspin coming off the line promoting me to 3rd position. Juan immediately disappeared into the distance, but I was able to keep up with Locutus. The dirty air made it difficult and dangerous to drive, but I kept putting pressure on him. Overtaking was out of the question as it's impossible to get close enough, even when we were stuck behind a backmarker. At one point there was some debris on track and Locutus hit a stray wheel. Somehow it got stuck under his car until his diffuser spit it out and projected it at me :)

In lap 26 Locutus entered the pits but I had two laps of fuel left. Those two laps I pushed as hard as I could with worn out tyres (they suffered a lot driving in dirty air for the entire stint). It was quite exciting being in the pits and seeing the seconds between me and Locutus decrease. In the end I came out two seconds ahead, and merely managed to avoid the wall in T1 as I braked a bit too late on cold tyres. Locutus wasn't as lucky and hit the wall sideways.

This ended our battle and for the rest of the 50 laps I was all alone on the track. The hardest part was keeping my concentration. I only saw one other car that race - when lapping Cash of course :p. I never really pushed as there was no point; nobody was following me closely and Juan was half a lap ahead by that time. Nevertheless I hit the walls at least 20 times, but gently enough for the car to survive :)

In the end a second position was all I could do as Juan was in a class of his own. It's my best Monaco result so far and I'm very satisfied. Next up is Istanbul in two weeks time. It's a nice track and I've always had good results here, so I'm very much looking forward to it."

By Machiel:

"I thought I did alright in qualifying, but Nicolae pipped me for pole by something like 4 hundredths. In the end that hardly mattered as for some reason, I started on the inside line where I thought the pole would be, and to make it even easier, the grid wasn't aligned correctly so I started pretty much side by side with him. I managed a slightly better getaway than Nicolae and that was enough to take the lead. Then I got surprised by Flyer23 in Turn 1 as he heavily out braked himself. Luckily he was able to avoid everyone.

The rest of the race was straight forward. I couldn't get away from Nicolae that easily, but when he pitted early I knew he was no longer a threat. Ricardo pitted way later than me and for a moment I thought it would be close at the pit exit, as I was held up by some backmarkers, but it wasn't.

It was very difficult to lap the backmarkers. I could easily catch up, but once I was behind the balance of the car completely changed and didn't drive well at all. Sometimes it took me laps to get by someone. Near the end I again made some mistakes because of it, damaging my left sidepod at a chicane. Ricardo caught up and put some pressure on me, but it's still Monaco and I knew he couldn't really get past me as long as I didn't make any big mistakes.

I'm looking forward to the next race in Istanbul."

By Ricardoferreira:

"After miss China race because of problems at my F1 (pedals), and without the team have got the problem resolved in time, the fault of the CasH, i back to play Monaco Race.

In this track I had 3 pole (i think) but never past the first corner lol.

I started the race with some care, I knew I could win even without being faster, in the team we talk before the race about the tactics (not spoken, but just to look more real) lol was to keep me as close as possible to that were forward, and it was important not to lose in starting positions as has happened in recent races.

So, the race started, I spent the first corner in third, without no problems, where I remained until the first stop was faster than Marius, but I chose not to bring and maintain a safe distance, as we all know these cars have the tendency to understeer.

I stay in track more 4 laps, where did the 2 fastest lap times, and won the 2 place with that.. I tried to force Machiel to error, but unfortunately today he was the best.anyway like tyger my best result ever in monaco

Congrats to machiel! Tyger and Danny in EXP! 2 and 3 places :)"

Round 4, China

Results and Movies China

Our 4th round and the tension only increases by the race!
Just as you think you can predict the outcomes by now, the final results are again pretty different.
CasH as LRT prediction champion of 2009 dìd predict the return of fast Okan Kükner, but even he didn't win this one!

Okan first had some great fights with Championship leader JuanFran. However Locutus came out on top with his first victory of the season.

You might expect JuanFran at least to be Top3 then, behind the two. However having such blisterous speed also has some serious disadvantage IF something goes wrong, like with JuanFran.
A minor error ended his race this time in a spectacular way, giving the rest a chance to finally catch up a bit in the Championship.

Enduracers 2009/2010

© StewartRACINGIMAGES

The above of course only happened in Heat 1 as we again split, due to the amount of contesters, in 2 heats.

Heat 2 EXP showed at least as close and spectacular racing as heat 1! Numerous fights between nogs and CasH, CasH and Nemesis, Ft5fTL88 (what's in a name :P), Sailsy and so on!
Only fellow OA Veldt000 decided to take a wide T1, screwing his race already in an early stage. Well, also some technical experimenting didn't do his result any good this time. Showing the testing is for experimenting, not the race ;).
Heat two had multiple leaders, due to different strategies.

Poor Sailsy had the best chances, but jùst ran out of fuel in the pitlane, forcing him to give up in leading position! CasH having a huge lead due to a three stop, but got back on track jùst after Nemesis, who is an expert in defending!
However, with such great racing and such close fights, who cares about winning! It's simply exciting!

Our AMA class IS in need for a change, unlike EXP.
Yet again Dutch Machiel took the win (for the 3rd time already!).

Up to now, LRT driver Ricardoferreira had lots of misfortune. Most of the time qualifying as (one of the) fastest drivers, but due to mistakes/problems not ending where one would expect him. This time it was even worse! Just before the race his wheel stopped working, so poor Ric was forced to withdraw even before the race started. This dropping him to 3rd in the AMA Championship standings.
Of course his Team Captain immediately took action and ordered Ric's dad to send some strong glue to fix the problem (which it did). Yes, even LRT has budgetory problems these days!

After our correction in the Team standings, Machiel, MontyHJC (finishing 2nd) and TC Leen15nl (7th) regained their deserved 1st place in the Championship. However still closely followed by Art-Of-Racing, who's best finisher Marius Nicolae took 3rd this race.

All promising stuff for next race, Monaco!

Below, no Race Report(s), as I didn't get any (shame on you guys!) but some vids of Okan Kükner (THX!) to show how it's done :).

CU all at Monaco this weekend! And keep in mind, if you get bored, you can also join our sister GT1 League!

Have fun!

Round 3, Malaysia

Results and Report(s) Malaysia

A late one again, partly due to my usual day off spent travelling to the coast to be best man at Tygernoot's wedding. Worth it however :). No, don't ask for pics :P.

The race in Malaysia now! A bit of a nervous start, as due to the number of contesters we had arguments about starting with split heats or not.
Finally we decided to do another big grid and it went remarkably well for EXP. A few laggy related problems at the start, but for the rest it was great as usual.

One man tends to get boring: JuanFran. He again claimed pole and victory here! Followed at respectful distance by his Olympic Motor Racing Team mate Nemesis. Them being the only two from the Team to finish however. Lowland Racing Team's Tygernoot took a great third place! With Tyger's Teammates in 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th and 12th place scoring, this keeps the Team Championship exciting! Storm Team Racing also managed to get 2 of them scoring in 9th and 13th place.

I know JuanFran is already putting the Champagne cold for next race, but rumours go ever fast Okan Kükner will make his return after his one race ban, so... ;).

It seems the FIA and TYKA always have the same issues, and usually TYKA adapts their rules years before the FIA does the same ;). Again this time a discussion for both regarding pitlane issues.

Yours truly leaving the pits, unaware of the approaching Rinker. We went out (I thought) the pitlane side by side, until Rinker decided to just steer to his pit, jumping all over poor CasH :D. Unfortunately Rinkers car suffered some damage from it, dropping him down some places.

Afterwards the LRT pitcrew got a firm warning for releasing their TC, CasH that moment.

This race in AMA again LRT driver Ricardoferreira claimed pole and was sure he'd dominate and win the race.
Yet again however he lost many places due to a bad start! Ric had to fight his way back to the front which is, in this hard mod, not as easy as expected.
He did get close, even put up the fastest lap but Dutch Machiel, topdriver of TRM Racing Goes F1, still could hold off Ric. Behind them it was an Art-Of-Racing party with their fastest drivers Marius Nicolae, Bogdan Georgescu and Mihai Calota finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th. So AMA is developing a great Team Championship as well! Worth mentioning is the Team World Racing train behind thèm: JS, Snakey-UK, Flyer23 and Ianstuart in places 6 up to 9! The first Black Panda Racing finisher was G1n in 10th position. Well done all!

Some news about the Team Championships now. Due to a small bug in the system, some drivers who got DNF, didn't get their personal points (like it should be), but their points did score for the Team! Tygernoot found and fixed the bug by now. This however does result in a switch of Teams for the top 2 places in AMA. Therefore not TRM Racing goes F1 leads, but Art-Of-Racing. We apologise for the mixup!
The more reason to fight even harder to reclaim the leading position guys! Just to make sure: there were no changes in EXP!

Below, as usual the Race Report(s). Pity this time it is only one. Thanks Nemesis!

Now off to China for our next race, coming sunday! CU there!

Race Report(s):

By Nemesis:

"Off the grid I got a good start and moved up a few places. zoneur was right behind me early on and he seemed quite aggressive and quick so I let him go past into the hairpin on lap one to stop either of us losing time battling unnecessarily. Early on I was just trying to get use to the car and I started to pick up some pace. After Schumikov and Zoneur went off track I moved up to 3rd. With Locutus a few seconds up the road and Danny gradually dropping back behind (he used hards in 1st stint). I kept picking time out of Locutus but the odd mistake kept the gap about the same when he pitted before me.

My 1st pit stop was particuarly slow (bad entry) and I failed to jump him which i maybe should have. Now with Danny on my tail with improved pace. I kept pushing and kept close to Locutus and with my entry light laps I felt happy I would jump him. However Tyger who had also stayed out longer had caught up and started pressuring and made a very quick pit entry and almost got past me in the pit lane. On exciting all 4 of us were on the straight together and luckilly I was first in to turn one.

After that I had to keep pushing as tyger was not giving up and the drag kept him close down the straights. But in the end I managed to hold him off and got a unexpected 2nd place behind juan who was just too quick for the rest of us."

Round 2, Australia

Results and Reports Australia

Our second (well, partly) race of the season already!
As Bahrain will have a partly re-race due to circumstances, therefore the results during the Championship will be without Bahrain (also for AMA) until the last (re)race at Bahrain has been run.
Due to above mentioned circumstances, we Admins decided to run the Australian Race in 2 heats per class, which was perfect!

Australia was a great one for both classes!
In EXP The Champion of last year, JuanFran continued his awesome pace, to try to catch up with Michael Schumacher! Doing good business for himself and his Team, Olympic Motor Racing.
Top 3 however from 3 different Teams! Runner up was Luciano Rodrigues (formally known as LulaSenna) for the new, but already successful Storm Team Racing. 3Rd placed man was Danny3L. He is the fastest driver of last years winning Team, Lowland Racing Team.

So already after our first/second race, both Drivers and Teams Championship are heating up it seems, with battles all over the place.
Extra hard this season, as the drag in this mod makes it very hard to stay close and overtake!
Poor LRT drivers Tygernoot and CasH noticed, when their Teammate (!) Bryan popped up in front of them, with slower pace, but both were unable to overtake for many, many laps! I heard Bryan had to cancel all his planned holidays after this, due to his immediately reduced salary!
Some however did manage to overtake, like Team Captain of Storm Team Racing, Marko Koscevic.

AMA this season also has many familiar names from last year, but also some new Drivers and Teams as well!

One driver made a switch from EXP to AMA, due to his lack of spare time to do long EXP races (how can one come up with such excuse! :D). Looking at the results of LRT, they do miss Ricardoferreira in EXP! Ric however had some bad luck after a very bad start (we heard that before?!) but still finished 5th!
Victory however was for the Dutch newcomer (at least new to TYKA) Machiel! Scoring many points for the newcoming Team TRM Racing goes F1. I bet their Team Captain Leen15NL is very pleased! Actually he must be, as he himself finished in 15th place. Still scoring as well for his Team!
Second placed man this race was Brazilian Fabrizio71, at only 2.4 seconds from Machiel.
At a more respectful distance of 17.4 seconds, the ever fast Romenian Marius Nicolae finished 3rd. Him perparing Art-Of-Racing for a battle for the lead again!

All in all a great start of the 2010 season, promising, as usual, great racing with TYKA!
Note below the Driver, Teams and Country standings! Just try to win all 3 which, up to now, only Lowland Racing Team managed ;).

As always also some Race Reports from you drivers! Keep sending them please, as it is too hard to tell all about your personal battles, fortune or misfortune from here. We like to read what YOU guys experienced!

Last, but certainly not least, I like to remind you all about our second League we run this summer! YOU voted for it, and based on our Winter League, the mod is just a huge success: Enduracers GT1! Join that league as well and have fun! Special thanks to my fellow Admin Veldt000, who will run that League for you guys! Make him work for his money! :P:D. Read all about that League HERE.

Now off to Malaysia for our next race, coming sunday! CU there!

A bit delayed, but THE PRIZE WINNERS OF OUR MINICHAMPS CAR OF THEIR CHOICE WILL BE CHOSEN AND ANNOUNCED SOON!

Race Report(s):

By Ricardoferreira (AMA):

"My 2nd race in the AMA, after 3 years in EXP.

As in bahrain, the same thing happened at the start, this time did not POLE, but my start was very bad at it, from P2 to P8 in bahrain from P1 to P16, I'll have to make a complaint to Cash (team boss ) of engineers. lol

I spent the race trying to recover positions, was the fastest on track, and I got the feeling he'd had a good start had won the race without problems, but also part hazards. I tried to attack at first, but whenever someone approached me ends up losing more than gaining positions due to drag caused by the car ahead.

At the height of the boxes was the last stop 3 laps after everyone, with the fuel in 0.1, gained 2 positions with that, and spent the Snakey Xeeko. Pressure on the track I did on the ice cap Mihai, Bogdan Georgescu ended up the pass, was 6 seconds of Catalin Graur, retrieved 6 seconds in 3 laps, so that it was too late to gain position.

In a general context turned out to be a good day, hopefully in Malaysia is better.

I still want to say congratulations to Danny, my team for their 3rd place in EXP."

By Krivjur (EXP):

"Got a steady start from middle of the grid (8th of 15), lost a few places but I was just hoping the get 1st lap without incidents. There was no obvious lag like in Bahrain, and seemed everyone got through turn 1 nicely. I got two-three cars closely front of me, the turbulent air effect was quite strong at that point, I just tried to hang on to the pack. I knew Walter976 would have good race pace and would be trying to come through the ranks quickly. He got past on 1st lap braking into T8 cleanly and easy.

KF12006 was then chasing me for a few moments, then I cut T1 on the inside, so i decided to let him past. Soon after I run wide at T13 and Eralp Kumartaslioglu got in front, I was then chasing him for a while, made a few mistakes while running close by, but gained the gap back. Turning point of the race was spin on lap 10 T11 and after that another one at T13 where I lost the front wing and had some right front suspension damage.

My closest competitors ended up retiring soon after, so end of race was to bring the car to finish and give way to lapping cars without accidents. Regarding other cars, race was very clean from my perspective, didn't notice any contact. After a few crashes with other cars on Bahrain, this race was a turn into better."

By Nemesis (EXP):

"My qualifying position was reasonable but nothing spectacular in 12th on the grid, with the problems of drag and trouble overtaking I wish that I had done a better job and got higher up.

So After limited testing I checked out my speed difference with 1 stop or 2 and although quicker on a 2, when taking in to consideration the traffic problems I felt I would do better from 1 stopping. (the soft tyres could just about hang on luckily).

The start I got away alright, losing a couple of spots as the car in front was a little slow getting away + my heavy fuel load. In 1st corner I retook some positions. Going into the 2nd corner I went too deep with drag, cold tyres and issues with only 8 cars visible putting me off and had to go off the track to avoid contact coming back on in last place :(

The following laps I passed rinker who I comfortably beat for high speed and got a toe on cash and out braked him into turn one. I also grabbed some places from a few guys who spun/had racing incidents. My pace was proving fairly decent and I could quite happily hold back Jose and hang on to Sailsy who were both on 2 stops ( losing some time in the drag at times) I knew a good few cars were still within reach still for when they pitted and kept pushing. The two stoppers all pitted and I jumped (think i surprised a few guys :p ) up the field to 5th place with kostas just ahead and Sennador just behind me. My pace was reasonable but my tyres were very well worn so I just kept working hard to keep my pace up. Sennador as he got lighter got very tricky to hold back and eventually got by me. I pitted soon after and came out with jose just behind me him very light and me very heavy I defended for a long while but just before his pitstop he outbraked me and got by (although he spun not long after.)

I had lost some time on heavy fuel and battling jose and realised 4th and 5th were probably out of reach now as they had fresher tyres but still I managed to jump up too 6th place not too far back from them. Locutus I had just got past after all stops were completed and he stuck close to the back of my car for the rest of the race. As my tyres wore I made a couple of errors and he nearly pass (and did but I managed to retake the position) on two consecutive laps. It was getting a bit close for comfort and I was really pushing to keep him back. On the final lap we came up to lap shumikov, I thought I had passed him but then he lagged and reappeared right in front of me making me break slightly and giving locutus a run around the outside of me in the middle sector, I hung tight to the inside and just managed to hold the position until the end.

I finished 5th after Sennador dropped back with damage and all in all it was a very good result. Being seemingly the only car on a 1 stop strategy had worked really well. Maybe without my first lap mistake I should have finished 4th and given 3rd a go. but not a big loss really and a great result for the team as a whole as we all got a lot of points. :D"

Australian race delayed until 11 April

Hello guys, here's a short news flash for the F1 league.

Round 2: Australia delayed until 11 April

Due to the Easter weekend we have decided to delay the second round of our championship. The race will now be held 11 April with extra qualifying sessions in the week leading up to the race.

Bahrain Results

As you can read in the Bahrain Race topic on our forum, we have kept the Bahrain race results provisional. Due to lag and FPS problems, we are allowing everyone from EXP to re-race at the end of the season with the best race result result that counts as final.

Welcome to Tyka's 2010 F1 Summer League

enduracers

Tyka's 2010 F1 Summer League is about to start!

We have hardly finished the Enduracers Winter League and we are already preparing for another exciting Formula 1 season on Tyka. With 19 races on the calendar this is definitely going to be a long battle. Will JuanFran be able to defend his drivers title? Is LRT strong enough to become team champion for two consecutive seasons? In the past leagues the champions were only decided in one of the last races - if not the last race - so I guess we will only find out in November. As usual, CasH will be your league admin and our team of marshals is ready for support.

Mod

This season we will be driving the F1 WCP 2.1 mod. The mod is available for download from the Tyka server. Note: You have to install the full v2.0 version first and then apply the v2.1 patch!

Schedule

As we follow the real F1 season we will usually be running the week after the real F1 race has taken place. On some occasions there are F1 races on two consecutive weekends, which oblige us to run a race on an F1 weekend. The entire schedule is already available, but it is possible a few changes will be made over the course of the season. The tracks will be made available for download before the qualifying period of each race opens and can always be autodownloaded through the client by simply joining the training room.

There will be two qualifying days when there's a 1-week schedule and five qualifying days when there's a 2-week schedule. The days to qualify are Wednesdays and Fridays, with Sundays only the for 2-week schedules. To accomodate as many users as possible from all timezones, there are eight qualifying sessions per qualifying day (four for AMA, four for EXP), each at different times. This will ensure you always have the chance to participate in a session to qualify for the race. If you still cannot make it to any of the sessions, you can send an email to CasH to be added to the back of the grid.

There will only be one race for all timezones. The race heats will be held on Sunday evenings. The AMA race is 50% of the race length and starts first, followed by the 100% EXP race. The races may be split into multiple heats depending on the number of contestants. If there's a need for a second heat it will be held simultanously with or after the first EXP race - depending on the load imposed on the server. In case there are very large numbers and a third heat is required, we will either plan the race on another time or day, or see if we can use another server.

Skills

We will be running both an amateur (AMA) and an expert (EXP) championship. These championships are completely separate for drivers and teams. The differences between the championships as well as the points given for the qualifying and race results can be seen on the rules page.

Teams

The current teams can be found on the teams page. To organise your team (create a new team and add or remove drivers) please send me an email with the necessary information and I'll make the adjustments right away. Please keep in mind that changes made during a race week will only be reflected for the next race.

How to join?

We are still working on getting a proper league guide ready. Be sure to read the championship guide and the rules page. If you still have any questions, feel free to ask them on the forum.

Forum

Don't forget to keep an eye on the forum. Here you can read all the latest information and discussions of the league. We also use it for last-minute notifications or important warnings, so be sure to check before every race that you don't miss anything.
We hope you will enjoy the league!
